Phoenix Yard was created from three semi-derelict Victorian hosiery mills in the heart of the city of Leicester and is now occupied by a variety of restaurants, businesses and social enterprises.
Regeneration
The Regeneration project aimed to breathe life back into these attractive Victorian buildings that had ceased to have any viable industrial purpose, and in doing so invigorate the local area.
Social Enterprise
As a social enterprise the project aimed to bring back into use vacant, derelict land and buildings in a socially and environmentally responsible way, with financial surpluses generated from the ownershop and operation of Phoenix Yard going to SHARP, a charity that works with homeless and poorly accomodated people.
